Early Life and Background

He was born to a family of modest means, the son of Shaileshkumar Pragjibhai Godhani, a catering business owner, in Surat, Gujarat. Harmeet was greatly inspired by his father, who was an entrepreneur, and by his early introduction to the business world. While studying for a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Tapi Diploma Engineering College, Harmeet has proved to be one of Gujarat's youngest, assertive, and goal-oriented entrepreneurs.[1]

Journey to Entrepreneurship

At the age of 15, he was faced with a critical situation in the streets of Surat when an ambulance was obstructed by a car that was parked illegally. Through a series of innovations that included the development of QR code-embedded stickers and a hands-free solution, he was able to build an app called HELPTAG SMART which had a "Find Your Own Vehicle" functionality that solved this problem.[2]

Overcoming Challenges

His youth caught up with him because of the resistance from the market but he, being the innovator that he is, had to bear the brunt of it. The people who dismissed his idea wanted to see how such a young entrepreneur could be trusted to succeed. However, he didn't quit after becoming aware of this and utilized his social media accounts and surveys to elicit comments on numerous vehicle-related problems such as no-parking zones, lights left on, coincidences, and more which in turn he used as a guide to enhancing his product. His hard work eventually paid dividends as he managed to gain customer loyalty and even friends.

The device operates 100% secure and does not expose the users' identity while ensuring prompt communication between vehicle drivers and people trying to reach them. It also sends messages to nearby hospitals and police stations in case of accidents or emergencies thus enabling quicker help.[3]

Achievements and Recognition

Soon after Harmeet's startup sound the Sharkteen Session 4 and had wrapped up a total of 3,000 in the running, they landed first place in the Sharkteen Session 4 event held at LJ University in Ahmedabad. They pocketed a prize of ₹2 lakhs. Also, the team of Harmeet collaborates with Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), which is the main reason, they are, in addition, promoting HELPTAG QR stickers throughout Gujarat.

Vision and Future Plans

Harmeet has a vision that traffic and vehicle-oriented problems could be solved with just a click of the mouse. Each time, his team does marketing research to find practices that occur in the real world and give them unique ideas. The upcoming HELPTAG SMART QR 2.0 tries to increase its value and lead to more societal impact [4]

Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Harmeet insists on the importance of even a basic idea. He also says that a business's success depends on how it is realized. He motivates young entrepreneurs to keep faith in their dreams as well as to exert effort so that those dreams are tangible. In the quotation “India has 140 crores people and 140 brains if a few people give their ideas a go, India will be a developed nation,” Harmeet states as per his opinion.

The transformation of Harmeet from being a 15-year-old child with an idea to Gujarat’s youngest entrepreneur illustrates the attractions of innovation, perseverance, and determination.
